is that my foot?
Life 2 Comments »Huh. Didn’t think you’d ever see that did you? As a new sponsor I guess I am obligated to give em a try.
The first stage here in ca was pretty crazy with a massive stack at about 10k to go. I ran over the bike of the t-mobile rider that caused it and barely squeaked through to make the lead split. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with it all…
Otherwise the race went well and the legs feel good. Tom P out in a killer effort over the last climb to take the kom jersey after the two of us were in an early move of 6 for the first one.
The first half of the race tomorrow looks pretty brutal but then flattens out going into sac. Gonna be tough going through all those vineyards and not having a taste or two on the way:-)

Jason Donald. He’s fast.
Life 1 Comment »The Tour of California is underway and the story of the day is going to be about our very own crazy-green newbie that nobody has heard of, yet, Jason Donald. He SMOKED the prologue today, barely a second and a half behind Levi (south beach diet cereal muncher), and well ahead of the rest of the field. Needless to say, a VERY impressive powertap file…
With Jason 2nd and Taylor winning the u-23 competition it was a great day for Team Slipstream. Tomorrow’s rolling stage up to Santa Rosa looks like it could be a tough one and calls for some aggressive early action. Maybe. Wish us luck.
Oh yeah - for breakfast Jason had a bunch of homemade meusli, some fruit, toast, and a bunch of other miscellaneous hotel crap. It worked. Me, I had about the same for breakfast but without quite the same effect. Not the best day of bikin’ but many more ahead. On a high note I saw my pal Nate Ready and have a shiny new bottle of 05 Rivers-Marie that might, just might, still have the cork in it when Cheynna gets out on Thursday:)
