This is super random, but it’s been bugging me…
The last couple of pics I’ve seen of Pate have been sans-stripes on his sleeves and it looks like they’ve been cut off. It struck me as odd that he was wearing them in the first place, since he got them in the TT and I was under the impression that they could only be worn in the event in which they were earned. Is that actually the case?
Yeah, i think its kind of bullcrap as I am the NY state champ in road race in the cart 4’s from a few years back and they wont let me put my state flag stripes on my jersey. stupid rules.
I know your question is for Will, but he is prolly busy racing, so ill take a crack. Pate won the tt, that year, he could wear the jersey only in the discipline that he won it in. He couldnt wear the jersey in a road race. Now with the stripes you can wear them in anythihng, the stripes are just a little marker that says “i am a bad ass”, such as greg henderson, he won the scratch race world champs, but all his road jerseys have the stripes. I am guessing pate just doesnt have the stripes on every jersey for whatever reason or another. I wouldnt know too much though, pate doesnt talk to me anymore, he is d2 now so he doesnt talk to us little pros, but for now ill keep taking care of the front row (or should i say back row) seat in the tail gun club.
The pate throws his clothes all over the room before he gets into it to make it look like home. So JV decided since pate was a world champ and a bad ass to put the rainbows on the sleeves so he could find his own crap, I don’t know what happens to the short though. just a thought
I almost took a dump myself laughing so hard from that photo. Leave it to the Euros to make a convenient place to stash your smoke while you are putting the flames out below.
Is it me, or are the Stripes becoming too common? You have all the disciplines, then all the same disciplines for the U-23s. Has it lost it’s edge?
