And why, tell me, do so many people over here burst into applause for a succesful landing? I kinda make that assumption when I get on board…. Or at least hope for it. Fortunately somebody else on board inevitable feels like I do and cheers even louder with the sarcastic “Thank god I didn’t die” implied. Ah, travel. It brings out the best in people.

I remember when I was a kid people used to applaud at the end of movies. That logic completely escapes me.

Folks applaud at the end of the yoga & pilates classes I take. I’m usually too knackered to be able to voice that level of enthusiasm/thankfulness but of course I do any…damn peer pressure.
Coincidentally, today was a bunch of newbies and I was so pleased when no one clapped so that I didn’t have to!

Good Luck today!
…I think as long as your traveling companions don’t get out and start kissing the ground after the flight, you might be okay.
